Brunch restaurant and cake shop Home Sweet Home is closing in the Northern Quarter. Bosses said in an emotive Twitter post on Thursday night (June 7) that 'it's been the sweetest of times, but now it's time for goodbye'.
The popular eatery on Edge Street - famous for its breakfasts, pancakes and layered cakes - has been trading for 10 years.
It follows the closure of Home Sweet Home's Great Northern restaurant in 2019. The company, however, said it was 'moving forward with exciting new projects'.

Confirming the closure from Saturday, July 23, the NQ restaurant said: "After 10 years of milkshakes, cheeseburger toasties, a million breakfasts and a whole bunch of happy tummies, sadly guys it's time for us to go.
"I know it sucks right, your go to place for family and friends and a warm glow will be no more.
"Home Sweet will close its doors forever after service on Saturday, July 23. We're moving forward with exciting new projects and sadly Home Sweet just has to float away into the chocolate river.
"It's been the most wonderful of times and we will miss soothing your hangovers and satisfying your cravings. Drop in, say goodbye and get your final fix.
"Goodbye sugar babies."
Customers shared their sadness and love of the restaurant in replies on Twitter. "The cheeseburger toastie will have a place in my heart forever," posted Iain Devine.
And Blaine Wilson wrote: "The morning after gig ritual will have to be revised, you'll be missed."
