Chandigarh: Former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar on Saturday announced his decision to quit the party on Facebook. His announcement came when the party's conclave - 'Chintan Shivir' - enters the second day in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He was upset with the party over action against his alleged anti-party activities.

Sunil Jakhar targeted Ambika Soni for misguiding the Congress president and Rahul Gandhi on not only Punjab affairs, but also on other states.

He also attacked during his ‘Dil Ki Baat’ Facebook live message Harish Chaudhary, former state in-charge Harish Rawat and Tariq Anwar.

Jakhar accused the Congress high command of listening to a particular Punjab leader on the issue of the CM’s appointment after Capt Amarinder Sing’s ouster.

Praising Rahul Gandhi, Jakhar called him “a good person”, and urged him to take the command of the party in his hands and “distance yourself from chaploos log (sycophants)”. "Good luck and goodbye Congress," he winded up saying.
