Good news, NFL fans: Broncos aren’t in prime-time slot this week

When the NFL announced the 2022 Denver Broncos schedule in May, it originally included five prime-time games and seven nationally-televised games.

The arrival of quarterback Russell Wilson had the Broncos trending up (on paper) and the NFL was hoping to cash in on the hype around the team. Unfortunately, Wilson’s first season in Denver has been a disaster.

The Broncos are 3-9, considered the second-worst team in the NFL. The team is so bad that the league decided to flex Denver’s Sunday Night Football showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs this week out of the prime-time slot.

The Broncos’ game against the Chiefs in Week 14 will now be played at 2:05 p.m. MT on CBS. The league flexed the Los Angeles Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins game into SNF to take the place of Denver vs. Kansas City.

So a national television audience won’t be forced to watch the Broncos on Sunday, which is good news for everyone.
