Good Morning Britain fans have criticised host Richard Madeley for making an "offensive" comment about a Downing Street cleaner.
On Tuesday's programme on ITV, the presenter referred to a cleaner as a "flunky". He made the remark following a report from political correspondent Louisa James, who was outside No 10 Downing Street.
While she explained how "humiliating" yesterday was for Prime Minister Liz Truss, a person could be seen cleaning the door in the background. Mr Madeley later told co-star Susanna Reid: "I thought the image of Louisa as she was there, live on camera, describing the sinking of the government ship, the guy polishing the front door, the flunky polishing the front door, behind her of No 10, that was so analogous to the deck chairs being rearranged on the deck of the Titanic.

"Who cares if the door is shiny? It's the least important thing of the day." The comment was picked up by many viewers, who took to Twitter to call him out on it, reports Yorkshire Live. Pete Clarkson said: "@GMB did Richard Madeley just call the cleaner a flunky!!!!!"
To which Claire replied: "He bl**** well did!!!! I can't believe his level of contempt for ordinary working people." Karen Robertson commented: "I’m glad someone else spotted that! Unbelievable!!"
And Seka wrote: "Me too, I came on here specifically to see if anyone had! He thought he was being so analytical & insightful. That's the man's job, of course he will continue to do it- it's how he earns his living. It's appalling to use, what is quite obviously, a derogatory word to describe him." Pickle tweeted: "Yup. Richard routinely makes derogatory, patronising, and generally offensive comments."
Mick Hansekowitsch added: "Richard Madeley on GMB has just called a man a 'flunky' live on air. He seemed to think it amusing that a 'flunky' was cleaning the front door of No10 that 'flunky' Is just a man trying to earn a living, struggling to make a living and that pompous a*** call him a 'flunky'."
Jack wrote: "Is it just me overreacting or is it unacceptable for Richard Madeley to refer to the person polishing the door of Number Ten as a flunky ? Is he showing his true colours? Come on @GMB an on air apology is in order."
