Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid warns Ed Balls 'we're on air' after swear word

Ed Balls ignored the advice of his co-host and dropped a swear word live on today's Good Morning Britain.

Susanna Reid looked at him furiously as she listened to him say the word "t***" although she had just told him not to. They had been presenting the ITV breakfast show together when they began to discuss a previous appearance from EastEnders legend Danny Dyer in the studio.

Ed fondly recalled the day as he said he had been working at the time as he said: “He used the ‘t’ word.”. Ed added: "Are we allowed to say that this early?"

But Susanna reminded him of the rules as she said: "No, it’s on the Ofcom list." That's when Ed decided to get a bit cheeky and dropped the t-bomb himself.

He said: "So you can’t say t***? Just checking.”

Susanna’s eyes then bulged as she looked at her notes in apparent shock, before turning to the cameras and reminding Ed: "You know we’re on air now, don’t you?"

Entertainment editor, Richard Arnold, also chimed in as he said: "You can say trotters, though." Susanna added: "He talked about David Cameron, who called the Brexit referendum being out with his trotters up. That’s the ‘t’ word you mentioned."

Later, Ed was forced to apologise. He addressed the audience as he said: “I apologise. I didn’t mean to say that. Apparently I shouldn't have said that.” Susanna added: "We’re going to clean up our act."

But fans on Twitter seemed to see the funny side. Vanessa said: "Susanna just had a proper mum reaction to Ed saying t*** on #gmb."

Another user said: "Ed quoting Danny Dyer calling the Tories t***s...... 'What you cant say t*** on telly!' #gmb TV gold." Meanwhile, Andy added: "Ed’s just gone up in my estimation… #gmb."
