Good Morning Britain panel fight tears of frustration during Boris debate

Good Morning Britain regular Kevin Maguire became emotional while discussing Boris Johnson's deceit and the impacts of the lockdown.

The former Prime Minister is set to undergo a grilling by MPs over whether or not he misled Parliament about Covid rule-breaking parties. The GMB panel discussed the upcoming scrutiny while debating whether or not Mr Johnson should expect to get off lightly.

Susanna Reid, who famously forced an apology from Mr Johnson for his deceitful actions during the lockdown, reminded viewers of his deeds and the impact they had on the public.

The Mirror's Associate Editor Kevin Maguire became emotional during the conversation, stating it was a difficult time made even harder by the former Prime Minister's mockery.

He said: "You had to sign a disclaimer saying you'll take the risk of potentially infecting and saying goodbye to a mother, father, husband or child. At the time, people were dying. Johnson was parting! It is utterly unforgivable."

Susanna interjected to address the editor's wobbly demeanour after he made several pauses to fight back tears. She said: "You feel emotional about it now."

Kevin added: "I do. He was the Prime Minister and I know he had Covid early on and I know people were making difficult decisions in real time but he was brazenly breaking the rules. I want to see his justifications and his excuse which we will soon see in more detail."

GMB's Ed Balls and panel regular Andrew Pierce then clashed over the Home Secretary's promise to deport migrants to Rwanda. Ed said it was a shameful tactic whereas Andrew claimed it was a necessary move to tackle illegal refugees.
