Good Morning Britain in chaos as ITV show abruptly ends amid fierce Boris Johnson debate

Good Morning Britain descended into chaos today as the show abruptly ended amid a fierce debate about Boris Johnson.

Two guests had been invited onto the show, fronted by Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard today, to discuss Boris and the Partygate report. The debate soon turned heated, with Kate and Ben having to step in multiple times to stop them talking.

At one moment, Kate stopped them and told them they couldn't speak over each other or neither of them would be heard as they discussed if Boris Johnson should have all his privileges taken off him following the report's findings.

As one guest fumed over the other's arguments, the debate continued to go on as the other said: "What has this got to do with what Boris Johnson did?" The pair continued to carry on arguing, even as Ben and Kate tried to say goodbye to viewers.

"I think they're just going to carry on arguing," Ben said, "We'll hand over to Ranvir." As Kate added: "They're not going to stop, goodbye," whilst the two of them shrugged their shoulders and waved goodbye.

The audio then cut and the screen changed to Ranvir standing in for Lorraine as she waved at her co-stars.

In a rebuttal to the report, a furious Boris claimed it was a "kangaroo court", writing in a lengthy statement: "It is now many months since people started to warn me about the intentions of the Privileges Committee. They told me that it was a kangaroo court.

"They told me that it was being driven relentlessly by the political agenda of Harriet Harman, and supplied with skewed legal advice – with the sole political objective of finding me guilty and expelling me from parliament."

The report found that Boris did mislead MPs when he denied lockdown-busting parties took place in No10.

After a probe of more than a year, the Commons Privileges Committee published a damning 108-page report today, which said Mr Johnson had misled Parliament on multiple occasions and said he would have faced a 90 day ban, if he had not stood down already.

Commons Leader Penny Mordaunt has told MPs there would be a vote on the report on Monday - Johnson's 59th birthday.
