Good Cod! ‘Fashion In Steel’ Exhibit Hopes To Dispel Myths About Medieval Armor

Armor for Wilhelm von Rogendorf (1481–1541) at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, Austria. Contrary to its popular image as clunky and cumbersome, the armor is so well-made its wearer can do somersaults in it. (KHM-Museumsverband/Zenger)

The “Iron Men – Fashion in Steel” exhibit, which runs through June 26 at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, Austria, features 170 artifacts that throw a new light on this complex subject, along with selected paintings, textiles and sculptures.
