Golf pundit Brandel Chamblee has shared a damning text conversation with LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman, exposing the former world No. 1’s hypocrisy. Chamblee has spoken openly against the breakaway circuit, much to Norman’s displeasure.
As a result, the Saudi Series boss hit out at the pundit recently, describing Chamblee as a ‘paid talking bobblehead’. Slamming the Golf Channel analyst, Norman said on Tuesday: “I find it laughable. Has Brandel Chamblee ever been to Saudi Arabia?
“Has he ever built a golf course in a third world country? He's a paid talking bobblehead. That's all he is.” The Australian seemingly called out Chamblee, claiming that despite having his number he has never heard from the pundit. “He’s got my phone number, he has never picked up the phone and asked me a question,” Norman added.
“Sadly you are making yourself look like a jerk, It is like water off a duck’s back to me.” Norman however has seemingly been left red-faced, after he exposed a conversation between the feuding pair, where Norman is seen commending Chamblee’s work.
Taking to Twitter, the pundit shared a screenshot of the conversation with the caption: “Greg Norman *to* Brandel Chamblee before I knew he was being paid by the murderous Saudi regime to sportswash. Funny how when I “call it like I see it” about LIV, it’s not so refreshing to Greg.”
Within the messages - as mentioned by Chamblee - Norman is seen praising the Golf Channel man, writing: “Keep being you and call it the way you see. Refreshing.” Despite his feud with the pundit, the LIV Golf boss will no doubt be over the moon with his series’ recent signing after bringing in Swedish star Henrik Stenson.
Whilst Stenson may not be the huge name he once was, the 2016 Open champion’s LIV Golf move is arguably the biggest yet, after losing his European Ryder Cup captaincy to take on the role. Stenson was appointed in March, but has been stripped of his role following his involvement with the Saudi Series.
In a statement, Team Europe confirmed: “Ryder Cup Europe today confirms that Henrik Stenson's tenure as captain of Team Europe for the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Italy from September 25 to October 1, 2023, has been brought to an end with immediate effect.”
