Golf influencer Paige Spiranac slams US PGA hero Michael Block over moment with his wife

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has taken aim at Michael Block after he denied his wife a kiss following his heroics at the US PGA Championship at the weekend.

Brooks Koepka emerged victorious at Oak Hill, but the performance of the club pro from California was perhaps the story of the tournament. Block eventually finished tied for 15th in the tournament with the highlight being a hole-in-one in the final round whilst playing with Rory Mcilroy.

Block parred his final hole and was then embraced by his wife, Val, after his sensational four days on the course. The pair embraced but Spiranac couldn't believe the pair didn't kiss - and laid the blame firmly with Block.

She said on her podcast, Playing A Round : "I'm just saying, if I'm on camera and I'm going up to my man, and I'm going in for a hug, and I'm putting my head up, going for a kiss, and they just deny me a kiss in front of all these people on camera, I would be bringing that up later.

"Not only later that day, but every single day for the rest of our lives until we die. We'll be laying next to each other on our deathbed and be like, 'Remember that moment you didn't kiss me on camera?' That would be the last thing I would ever say."

Block's efforts at Oak Hill have earned him a spot at next year's tournament, which will be held at Valhalla. In the process he also pocketed almost $300,000. Doing his usual day job as a club pro he would have to do 1920 lessons at his regular rate.

The 46-year-old has since been contacted by arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time, Michael Jordan. He told Sky Sports: "Getting a text from Michael Jordan, that's pretty darn cool, to say the least. I'm a big Jordan guy my whole life. I was a little kid in Iowa saving 100 bucks for a pair of Jordans back in the day.

"I told him that I just want to be in one of his 36-hole games! A lot of different people have been hitting me up, a lot of people have been giving me support even before it happened."

He also added: "I've said it a lot, but it's just a dream. I'm just cruising. I'm actually kind of glad that at this point I haven't come to the reality about what's happening so I can actually play pretty good golf."
