Peyton Manning is competing with Wyndham Clark at the BMW Championship pro-am at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado today.
He’s not off to a great start.
The two-time Super Bowl champion topped his opening tee shot and it only went “about 15 yards,” according to KCNC-TV’s Romi Bean. Manning took it in stride and cracked a joke: “Anyone see where that went?” The golf fans on hand had a great response.
“He’s human!” one fan said.
Then several fans started chanting, “One of us! One of us!”

Manning’s former teammate and fellow ex-Denver Broncos player Brandon Stokley is serving as his caddie.
Another former Broncos quarterback, John Elway, is also participating in the pro-am, playing in a group with Luke Bryan. Here’s Elway warming up:

Manning and Elway are both members of the Castle Pines Golf Club. Manning “made a hole-in-one in his first round as a Castle Pines member,” according to the PGA Tour’s website.
The BMW Championship will begin on Thursday.
