Another major retailer is set to pull the shutters down in Kilmarnock for the final time.
Goldsmiths is to close its high street store in what's another huge hammer-blow to the town's retail offering.
It's understood that the King Street store will shut up shop for the final time on March 26.
It's not known if staff at the shop now face redundancy or if they've been redeployed to another store.
The closest Goldsmiths will now be located in Braehead Shopping Centre.
Kilmarnock's town centre has seen a raft of retail casualties since the pandemic broke out two years ago.
H Samuel, another jeweler, was one of the first to be axed with bosses closing the shop in May 2020.
This was closely followed by Clinton Cards before Buzz Bingo, formerly Gala Bingo, shut in July 2020.
Superdrug then pulled out of the town in August 2020 along with Frankie & Benny's and DW Sport.
However, the town has also been boosted by the opening of new stores and venues in recent years including: a second Pound Stretcher, The Standing Man pub, Beijing Banquet and Food Warehouse. Buzz Bingo is also in the process of being refurbished by Club 3000 bingo and is set to open in early summer.
