A man accused of stabbing two Jewish men in north London and attacking another man earlier the same day is set to face trial next year.
Essa Suleiman, 45, appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday over the alleged knife attacks carried out in Golders Green on April 29.
According to Sky News, prosecutors allege Suleiman targeted Shloime Rand, 34, and Norman Shine, 76, during the incident in the north London neighbourhood, which is home to a large Jewish community. Rand reportedly suffered a punctured lung while Shine sustained multiple injuries, including wounds to his neck.
The court also heard allegations that Suleiman attacked a former friend, Ishmail Hussein, at a property in Southwark earlier the same day before travelling to Golders Green.
Suleiman, who was born in Somalia, faces three counts of attempted murder as well as a charge of possessing a black-handled knife in a public place.
The defendant appeared before Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb via video link from HM Prison Belmarsh, where he remains in custody.
During the hearing, prosecutor Deanna Heer KC outlined the allegations against him. Suleiman was not asked to enter pleas.
A plea hearing has been scheduled for September 25, while a provisional three-week trial is due to begin on March 1, 2027, at the Old Bailey.
