Gold Star father Herman Lopez and his wife Alicia paid tribute to the 13 service members who tragically lost their lives during the Afghanistan withdrawal at the 2024 Republican National Convention. These brave individuals, consisting of 11 Marines, one Navy corpsman, and one soldier, were killed in the Abbey Gate bombing outside the Kabul airport.
During their emotional speech, Lopez and Alicia solemnly honored the fallen heroes by reading out each of their names. This gesture served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by these servicemembers in service to their country.
