Gold smuggling case: 'Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan sought Sharjah ruler's help for daughter's IT business'

KOCHI: The details of an affidavit filed by the prime accused in the gold smuggling case Swapna Suresh have surfaced on Wednesday revealing serious allegations against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family. The leaked details of the affidavit alleges misuse of power and nepotism on the part of the CM and hinted at the chief minister and his family's involvement in the gold smuggling case.

In the affidavit Swapna submitted before the principal sessions court she has alleged that Vijayan had sought the Sharjah ruler's help to set up an IT business for his daughter in Sharjah. Their discussion was reportedly held at the CM's official residence Cliff House in the presence of the CM's wife, daughter, former IAS officer Nalini Netto and CM's former principal secretary M Sivansankar.
