Gold rates jumped across major retail jewellery brands today (Friday, September 18, 2026) following a fall in global oil prices. Buyers tracking prices across leading jewellers, including Tanishq, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas, and Kalyan Jewellers will see significantly higher gold prices today across key markets such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Thiruvananthapuram. The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) gold, silver rates also rose today, check indicative prices for 24k, 22k, 20k, 18k or 14k gold and 999-purity silver.
Gold outlook today
Vedika Narvekar, research analyst, commodities & currencies, Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, says, “Gold is holding onto its gains today, trading near $4,359 an ounce after a strong bounce yesterday that erased most of the losses from earlier in the week. Two things are working in gold's favour right now. First, Treasury yields have cooled off after their sharp spike around the Fed's rate hike on Wednesday. Second, oil has fallen for a third straight day as Saudi Arabia moves to restore its pipeline flows, easing some of the inflation anxiety that had been weighing on sentiment.”
“We expect gold to trade in a broad $4,320-4,420/ oz range for the day, with the dollar and any fresh oil headlines deciding which way it leans,” says Narvekar.
