The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has expanded benefits under the Universal Coverage Scheme, commonly known as the 30-baht gold card scheme, to include surgery for patients with severe obesity who meet strict medical criteria.
Deputy government spokeswoman Ploythalay Laksameesaengjan said on Wednesday the scheme provides equitable access to healthcare for more than 47 million people, covering a wide range of medical conditions, from common illnesses to costly chronic diseases.
