Britain's sharpest armchair critics have hailed UK singer Sam Ryder after he came runner-up in the Eurovision Song Contest. In the end, the Kalush Orchestra from war-torn Ukraine won last weekend's major competition - but Gogglebox stars thought Space Man star Sam was absolutely out of this world.
In tonight's (May 20) show on Channel 4, praise was heaped on the 32-year-old, from Essex, who came first in the jury vote and second overall. Gogglebox favourites Sophie and Pete are clearly fans.
Pete said: "He's brilliant." Sophie chipped in: "I love his outfit as well, it's kinda like pearly king vibe."
Pete added: "Yeah, but also could fix your boiler at the same time." Sophie interjected: "Like a space themed pearly king plumber."
On Twitter, there was also lots of love for Sam - and a number of people said Gogglebox should have celebrated his success more tonight. @ChartersRyz said: "Why didn't you focus on the epic Sam Ryder and the nail-biting voting?!?!"
The Gogglebox stars also clearly enjoyed Beat the Chasers and the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration show - and there just had to be reference to the so-called 'Wagatha Christie' High Court libel trial between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy. Sisters Ellie and Izzi raised lots of smiles by coining the phrase 'Flabatha Christie' - because hasn't everyone put on a few pounds recently?!
On Twitter, @amy_tru said: "Still howling at Flabatha Christie tbh." @chloeowens12 said: "Flabatha Christie! So pleased to have these two (Ellie and Izzi) back!" @milliesansoye said: "Flabatha Christie! That's what I'm calling my tummy from now on."
Gogglebox was created by Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt and Tania Alexander. It first aired in 2013 and entertains millions of viewers up and down the country.
Gogglebox is on Channel 4 at 9pm on Fridays or on All4 anytime
