It's already December, but this week Gogglebox was making like October 31 as it brought My House is Haunted (Discovery+) to our screens on Friday (December 2). The supernatural reality show follows paranormal investigators as they meet people who claim to have a resident ghost and try to help them banish it.
The stars on the Gogglebox sofas were all in as the spooky stuff started. Ghost expert Barry Ghai was exploring a spooky village hall when suddenly his tech sidekick Brian the robot simply disappeared.
Izzi Warner was first to gasp: "Brian's not there anymore. Where's Brian?"
"Brian's moving fam," added one of the Plummer brothers, and Abbie added: "So Brian is going towards the paranormal activity."
Pete and Sophie were gripped, with Pete intoning: "Oh, the proximity sensor is going off now."
Mary gasped beside husband Giles as the 'ghost' seemingly set off a sensor, and Julie Malone shouted: "Oh, the motion sensor's gone off!"
But while the Goggleboxers were gripped, fans were less than impressed. Plumcake @MmePlumcake added: "This ghostbusters programme sounds like a Monty Python sketch #Gogglebox"
On hearing that programme host Barry was reportedly nudged by a spirit, Roger @rogernook said: "He was pushed by a ghost - more like pretended to fall to one side #Gogglebox"
Some of the Goggleboxers were able to see the funny side, though - and fans appreciated it. Gillian Hudson @JillHudson21 tweeted: “They just don’t bust no ghosts!” So bloody true Tremaine!! #Gogglebox"
And JR @J_R_2018 quoted: ‘They just come to your house, aggravate the spirit and then go back to theirs’ - I swear that’s all they do on these ghost hunting shows #Gogglebox"
Gogglebox is on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4 or you can catch up on All 4
