Gogglebox favourite Tom Malone Snr. has announced that he will be taking on a daunting challenge to raise money for a cancer charity - which has prompted praise from fans.
Tom will be abseiling down Barton Tower at the Trafford Centre, in Greater Manchester, next Saturday (June 25) in aid of the charity the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
He's already raised almost £700 through a JustGiving page, which was promoted by Tom and his wife Julie Malone on their joint Instagram account just a few days ago.
The couple - who have appeared on the Channel 4 show since 2014 - shared a video of themselves in which they announced Tom's abseil challenge to their followers.
Julie teased in the video: "Try and guess what I've got him doing. What have I got you doing Tom?" He then explained to fans that he will be abseiling for charity later this month.
Tom commented: "It's pretty high. Sometimes we need a bit of help with heights don't we? Cause I'm only a short a***."
The couple encouraged people to support the fundraising initiative, with a link to his JustGiving page provided in the post. "If you can please donate," encouraged Julie.
The news prompted fans to take to the comments section to praise Tom and express well-wishes over the upcoming abseiling, which he will take part in next weekend.
"You guys are awesome. Tom, what kind and awesome thing to do," wrote one of their followers recently. Another commented: "Well done Tom, sure you'll be amazing."
A third person complimented: "You're a brave person to do it." Another follower had commented: "Amazing effort. Nice one Tom." "You're a star," wrote another follower.

Tom and Julie later followed up their initial post with an update, in which they addressed concern from fans that the link that had been posted previously wasn't working.
Tom teased that it was his wife's fault, saying: "You've messed up again!" Julie assured that the link itself was correct, but doesn't automatically take fans to the fundraising page.
"I reckon for this mess up, Julie should be going down the tower instead of me. Because she put me up for it. This is all Julie's idea," further teased Tom in the more recent video.
Julie however made her thoughts clear on the proposal, dismissing her husband's suggestion that she should take part in the abseil. She responded: "No! Let him do it."
Following their teasing, Tom concluded by expressing gratitude to those who have supported him. He said: "Everybody that's already donated, thank you very much."
