Gogglebox fan favourite Mary is facing calls to be banned from the show after she made some controversial comments about the Prime Minister.

A number of viewers requested her removal from the show after she made comments to her husband Giles about Boris Johnson's interview with Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain earlier this week. The Prime Minister was being interviewed in relation to the cost of living crisis, and Susanna asked him about the case of Elsie, 77, who struggles to pay her bills and told how she was forced to ride on a bus all day with her free bus pass to keep warm.

Mary said: "I am very sorry for Elsie but Susanna is making out it is Boris' fault and he doesn't care." Giles then asked her: "Whose fault is it?" And she replied: "Well it is the global situation."
