Former Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr has revealed why his family originally turned down the Channel 4 show.
The Malones have been much-loved cast members of Gogglebox since 2014. While Tom Jr left the programme in February 2021 to pursue other opportunities, his family remained as regulars on the show.
But speaking on Celebrity Mastermind tonight, Tom Jr shared why he and his mum Julie originally declined a role on the show. Host Clive Myrie asked Tom Jr: "It must be the best job in the world, sitting down, watching television?"

Tom Jr said: "I mean, it's awkward when you've got to watch certain things with your parents that you wouldn't necessarily watch with your parents but other than that it's a lot of fun."
Clive said: "How did you get into that job on Gogglebox in the first place?" Tom said: "I was teaching at a dance studio in Manchester and they came in and they spoke to the owner and asked if they knew any families that would be good for it [Gogglebox].
"She suggested me and my mum. We said no at first because we had never watched it at the time and when they described the show we thought that it sounded ridiculous. And then it was late one night and it came on and they asked us again, so we said yes the second time."
Currently, Tom Malone Sr, Julie and their son Shaun appear on Gogglebox. They are often joined by their daughter Vanessa.
