Gogglebox's Julie Malone pens heartfelt message to husband Tom as new series starts

Julie Malone has delighted Gogglebox fans with a tribute to husband Tom right before the new series started on Friday night.

The Malones have been much loved cast members on the hit Channel 4 programme countless series now and they returned to their couch to deliver their views on an eclectic mix of programmes as filming resumed last week.

They and Jenny and Lee have been absent from screens for a few months after the last series drew to a close, with viewers enjoying their reactions to everything from Strictly Come Dancing to the latest goings on a Downing Street

But, after the gap was filled with repeats, end of year specials and celebrity editions, Gogglebox returns to its usual Friday 9pm slot, much to the delight of fans.

And, having confirmed they'd be back for the new series on Instagram last weekend, Julie returned to the family's account to pen a heartfelt post in honour of other half Tom.

Next to a loved up picture of the couple, she wrote: "30+ years and he's still my Valentine,my rock ,my pain in the butt. Thanks for all you do for us Tom."

Fans were quick to react to the touching tribute, with one replying: "Beautiful photo of you both," and another commenting: "Love you two. Can't wait for Friday."

The Malones are, more often than not, joined by their treasured pets on screen and, referencing them, another avid Gogglebox viewer told Julie: " love you two and the dogs."

Another of the family's Insta followers reacted: "Couple goals."

A teaser for the first episode of Gogglebox's new series revealed that the cast had been watching and giving their opinions on The Masked Singer, Trigger Point, Pam & Tommy, First Dates: Valentine's, Dancing on Ice, Dragons' Den and Mary Beard's Forgotten Art.
