Gogglebox Ireland recruiting life-long friends, couples and clergy for brand new season

Popular weekly reality TV show Gogglebox Ireland is on the lookout for fresh faces to take part in its upcoming ninth season beginning this autumn.

Featuring families and friends fixed to their sofas reacting to the week's funniest and most jaw-dropping TV moments, Gogglebox Ireland is hoping to find a new batch of effortlessly funny companions.

Since first coming to our screens in 2016, the show's distinctly Irish feel has proven an audience favourite.

Its ability to accurately recreate the craic and debates that take place in sitting rooms up and down the country has captured a loyal viewership.

A spokesperson for the show said: "If you reckon you could be as entertaining to watch on telly talking about different programmes, then you'll be happy to hear, we are looking for new households to take part!"

Of particular interest will be life-long friends, as well as couples young and old, who reckon they have a chemistry witty enough to light up the show on their own.

"We are on the lookout for groups of older life-long friends who love nothing more than chatting about what they watch on the box."

The show is urging applications from people of any and all backgrounds across the country, quite literally.

"Despite them proving to be a lesser-spotted breed for Gogglebox Ireland, we'd still love to hear from telly-addicted members of the clergy!"

Individuals and groups with broad interests in current affairs, showbiz and sport are all encouraged to put their names forward.

"If you are just as gripped by the ‘First Dates’ as you are by ‘The Sunday Game,’ and you know your Daniel O’Connell from your Daniel O’Donnell, why not apply?"

If you think you or your family and friends fit the bill, you can apply by emailing casting@kiteentertainment.com with contact details of you and each of your group, where you live, what you typically watch together and a group photo if possible.

Applications close mid-August.
