After enjoying a superb season in which he helped Manchester City to win the Premier League title, Rodri has signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
The 26-year-old Spaniard was one of City's best players of the 2021/22 season, operating as a holding midfielder in front of the defence as a key part of the Blues' build-up play.
For two seasons after he arrived for £62.5m Rodri sometimes lacked confidence and calmness under pressure, but last term became an undroppable member of Pep Guardiola's side. He even added goals to his game, scoring a career-best seven league goals, including a crucial long-range strike on the final day that drew City level against Aston Villa.
