FAQs

Does GoDaddy sell 99 cent domains?

Yes, you can purchase some domains subject to availability and popularity for as little as $0.99 for the first year. These domains can even include .com domains (although these tend to be a little rarer).

How much is a GoDaddy plan?

GoDaddy offers a range of services, and each service includes a range of plans to suit all kinds of website needs. Depending on whether you're choosing a domain name, web hosting, web building, marketing, analytics, e-commerce goods or a mixture of the above, prices can start from $5.99 per month, with the usual prices sometimes dropping as part of limited-time promotions and better offers when you sign up for longer plans.

For example, if you're looking at web hosting, you'll have a choice of three tiers: Economy, Deluxe and Ultimate. The simplest, Economy, covers 1 website with unmetered bandwidth and provides 25GB storage and a free domain from $5.99 a month. Deluxe, which covers up to 10 sites and includes unlimited storage, starts at $7.99 a month. Finally, Ultimate starts from $12.99 a month, and provides support for an unlimited number of sites with twice the processing power of the other tiers.

You'll also find three tiers of website builder plans on offer if you're looking to create a new site rather than host an existing one. Basic comes in at as little as $9.99 a month and is suited to users' personal sites, with basic marketing tools, a custom domain and an SSL certificate included with your purchase. Premium adds more advanced features for social media and SEO and is recommended for new businesses. Prices for this tier start from $14.99 a month. Finally, the Commerce tier (unsurprisingly) offers full ecommerce functionality and is tailored towards businesses that make online sales. This tier usually costs at least $20.99 a month.

Can I get a GoDaddy free trial?

Yes, GoDaddy offers customers a 7-day trial on its website builder, letting you use the features of a chosen plan for a week to see if its for you before you're charged. If you're a fan, just let your plan roll over and you'll automatically be billed for the tier you've selected. If not, make sure to cancel before the 7 days are up to avoid an automatic purchase.

What is GoDaddy pro?

GoDaddy pro is a free membership created to help web developers manage multiple client websites in one place. Joining the service is straightforward - just head to the dedicated page on the brand's site, and you'll gain access to specialized tools for bulk site management, automated maintenance, additional site monitoring, business support and more through "The Hub" dashboard.

Alongside additional features, Pro members will also earn rewards on their purchases, with 5 points for every $1 spent. Points can be collected for discounts on future bills, with every 500 points worth $5 off. If you earn 2500 points within a year (that's $2500 spend), your membership will also be upgraded to Pro Plus, netting you double points on purchases for the rest of that year.

What is GoDaddy's cancellation policy?

GoDaddy’s cancellation policy varies from product to product. For example, annual plans can be refunded within 30 days whereas monthly plans must be canceled within 48 hours. Additionally, active or used products can not be canceled, if you want to learn more about GoDaddy’s cancellation policy visit their website.

GoDaddy Saving tips

Watch out for sales

GoDaddy regularly offers up to 80% off selected plans as part of limited-time promotions, including deals to coincide with events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. New sign-ups often receive the biggest discounts, so its best to joining the service correctly for the best savings. Here at TechRadar, we keep a close eye on the latest offers the site is currently running and update this page accordingly, so make sure to check back in regularly if you're planning to sign up any time soon.

Choose a longer plan

Depending on the plan you choose, you may have the option to sign up for anywhere between 1 month to 3 years. Usually, choosing a longer plan works out cheaper in the long run than paying for shorter-term alternatives, so if you can foot the higher upfront cost, this is well worth doing. These savings tend to rise the more advanced plan or tier you've chosen, too.

For example, with Godaddy's Economy hosting plan costs $11.99 paid monthly, but can be picked up yearly for the equivalent of $6.71 - $8.99 a month (between 25 - 45% off), or on a 3-year plan for $5.99 a month (around 50% less than paying monthly). Meanwhile, the Deluxe plan costs $15.99 paid monthly, but $7.99 a month on a yearly plan (around 50% off), or $5.99 a month on a 3-year plan (roughly 65% off).

Pick the right plan

Although GoDaddy offers a wide range of website services, you may find that you don't need a plan that offers all of the options on offer to meet your site's needs. Choosing a simpler plan means paying less a month, so make sure you aren't paying for any features you won't use to ensure you're getting the best price.

For example, when it comes to web hosting, unless you need support for unlimited sites or really want to double your processing speeds, you likely won't need to choose the Ultimate tier. Likewise, if you can get by with 25GB of storage and only have the one site, you won't need to choose Deluxe either. This can mean you save $7 a month by choosing Economy.

Make the most of pro

If you're a designer or web developer managing multiple websites for clients, you can sign up to GoDaddy Pro for free to get additional features to help you manage your portfolio more easily. These tools include site monitoring for each individual site, with support for WordPress hosting and web builders, making for an easy way to get more bang for your buck.

How we source coupon codes

Whether it's through our affiliate networks, the depths of the world wide web, or our connections with big name brands, here at TechRadar we use every tool at our disposal to source the latest codes. Our coupons team updates each of our pages multiple times a week with the most recent deals, including exclusive coupons negotiated by our Commercial team. We also include the latest sales info directly from retailers to offer the most up-to-date discounts around.

How we test coupon codes

Each coupon you find on TechRadar has been tested before being uploaded by our dedicated Deals & Offers teams. You’ll see a range of offers, from free shipping to student discounts, with savings available on all kinds of products & services. To make sure every coupon is ready to use, we don’t list any user-specific or one-time codes.

We also include all relevant information about coupons, such as expiry dates and any terms & conditions, near the ‘Get Code’ button. You can see the details for an individual offer by clicking on the ‘Terms & Conditions’ text below the code and expanding the code area.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

Although we do our best to ensure all listed codes are tried & tested, sometimes coupons expire or terms & conditions are changed before we can update pages. Our team works hard to make sure our coupons are active and work as intended, and should you encounter an issue when using one, we’ll work just as hard to help.

The best place to start is by checking the requirements. Click “View terms and conditions” to expand the code section and see any guidance on your chosen coupon. For example, you may need to meet a minimum spend, add other items to your basket to qualify for a multibuy offer, or confirm that your chosen code applies to the items in your basket (i.e. 10% off laptops).

If you’re still having issues using your code, you can email our customer service team on coupons.techradar@futurenet.com. Include as many details as possible - such as which code you used and which coupon page it’s listed on so our team can address your issue as fast as possible.

How we make money

When it comes to coupons, TechRadar earns money via a commission-based model. For every brand we have a coupon page for, we’ve negotiated a deal that means we earn a percentage of total basket value in commission back from every order.

Using this model means we can offer our coupons to our customers free of charge. You won’t pay any fees to add your chosen coupon to your basket - you’ll simply pay the final order total once your discount has been applied.
