The partial collapse of a new building belonging to God’s Outreach Madison County Food Bank Wednesday is still under investigation. The collapse sent four workers to an area hospital. Richmond Fire Chief Sam Kirby said the call came in shortly before 10 a.m.
“We received a call of a structure collapse. Upon our arrival, we found building trusses that were being placed and had partially collapsed.”
Kirby said the accident on Four Mile Road is under investigation by the state Occupational Safety and Health division.
“Basically, from what we were told on scene, the last two that they had set broke and set off a domino effect. And there were four workers injured and taken to the hospital.”
According to a post on the food bank’s Facebook page, the workers walked out of the UK Chandler Hospital Emergency Room with minor injuries.
