God of War Ragnarok is out tomorrow, and as is often the case with big-budget games, there’s an update waiting for anyone looking to explore Niflheim.
On Tuesday, Sony Santa Monica released the day one patch for God of War Ragnarok. The official patch notes list more than 200 bug fixes and gameplay tweaks – pretty much what we all come to expect whenever huge titles launch. We’ll avoid many of the details since there are spoilers for quests, creatures, and abilities within. Just know it’s a must-download for anyone looking to play the game.
“We strongly encourage you to download this patch to ensure you have the best possible experience when you play on [Nov. 9, 2022],” Sony Santa Monica said on Twitter.
There are numerous performance improvements as well, particularly with regard to crashes that occur during certain questlines. Sony Santa Monica stresses that these were quite rare, to begin with, and GLHF didn’t encounter anything game-breaking during our review either. So you’re likely safe either way – but it’s probably best to follow the developer’s instructions.
There’s no denying that the hype for God of War Ragnarok is almost palpable. Fans are going wild, and who can blame them – this game has been many years in the making.
