God of War Laufey: Everything we know about the new adventure game

Mark those calendars, because God of War Laufey is launching as a PS5 exclusive on February 16, 2027. The post-Valentines treat marks the first God of War game from developer Sony Santa Monica not to feature Kratos, but his dead wife Laufey (Faye for short) in the lead role – and she's just as much of a hard-hitting badass.

Announced during a lengthy 20-minute reveal at PlayStation's State of Play in June, we already have a pretty clear picture of how God of War Laufey will play out. The game puts us in control of a recently deceased Faye as she fights through the Everywhen – a cross-culture afterlife of the gods where deities collide – with the help of a strange jelly cube entity voiced by The Boys' Jack Quaid. Yep, you heard me.
