Goa CM Pramod Sawant assures Haj pilgrims of bus service to bring them home

PANAJI: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant flagged off two buses to transport Haj pilgrims to Mumbai and also assured the Muslim community that the state government will provide buses to bring them back.

Sawant said that the BJP remains committed to minorities and views all religions as equal.

"The government will provide two buses to the Haj Pilgrims and other amenities to make their return comfortable. Our government believes that all religions are equal and we participate in each others festivals," said Sawant.

Chairman of Goa State Haj Committee Shaikh Jina was present for the flag-off where Sawant felicitated some of the pilgrims.

He was speaking at the ESG complex from where the two buses were flagged off. “We will support all our Muslim brethren who are travelling on the Haj pilgrimage. I have come here to flag off the buses that the Goa government has provided to go to Mumbai,” said Sawant.
