Manchester United managed to reach the last eight of the Carabao Cup thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford but not before Newcastle United loanee goalkeeper Martin Dubravka made two mistakes in the first half that sent fans into a spiral on social media.
Dubravka marked his second appearance since going on loan to the Red Devils in the summer by coming out for a punch 35 minutes into the match before nearly deflecting the ball over his own goal line. Fortunately, he avoided a catastrophe thanks to Casemiro's clearance off the line.
The second incident came just over a minute later when he received a back pass from the Brazilian international which he completely missed it with his foot, almost letting the ball roll into the goal. However, he managed to stop it before it reached the net and passed it out to Casemiro who cleared it away from goal.

Many fans, including both Man United and Newcastle supporters, took to social media to discuss what had happened with one Red Devils fan simply saying: "A @RoyalMail strike has better distribution than Dubravka."
Not all fans were against the Slovakian however, with one Newcastle fan being pleased with the performance, saying: "Apart from one weak moment, Dubravka has been solid tonight, good distribution as well."
Despite that, many United fans called for Dubravka to go back to Newcastle early. One said: "This Dubravka needs to go back to Newcastle immediately," while another argued: "Dubravka has just made me age about 20 years twice in the space of three minutes."
Whatever the fans thought, neither moments had an effect on the match as a whole, with the Red Devils going into the last eight, making them a potential quarter-final opponent for the Magpies in the New Year.
