Good Morning Britain viewers criticised Richard Madeley over his "awful" question to the dad of a Sandy Hook school shooting victim.
Robbie Parker, the father of Sandy Hook victim Emilie Parker, appeared on the ITV show to speak to hosts Susanna Reid and Richard after conspiracy nut Alex Jones was forced to pay victims almost $1 billion. Robbie tragically lost his daughter Emilie Parker in the horrifying events, which took place in 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut.
The massacre saw 20 children and six adults killed, sending shockwaves around the world.
As they spoke about Alex's court case, Richard then asked if Mr Parker had any "revenge fantasies" that went beyond the money they were awarded by the court. Viewers of the show were stunned by his question as he spoke "father to father".
During their conversation, Richard asked how Mr Parker "coped" with feelings of wanting revenge.
"You are transparently a decent and civilised and intelligent man, but just as one father to another, I would be unable to control revenge fantasies going way beyond a court of law. How do you cope with them? Because you must have them," Richard asked.
Mr Parker paused for a moment before insisting "love and joy" was most important, as he wanted to carry on with his daughter's legacy following her death. He explained that the family needed to spread good in the world now.
"I am a human being. My mind can wander into those places. But those are the same realms that I think Alex Jones and Alex Jones' listeners go into and so I try not to spend too much time there," Mr Parker added.
"I try to focus on what's best for my family and our healing and really focus on our grief and being somebody that can actually bring a lot of good in the world. Emilie's life touched many people and only brought love and joy. As her parents, we only want to bring that."
However, frustrating viewers fumed over Richard's choice of words, with one dubbing the presenter "awful" for his question.
One viewer wrote: "Richard asking the man if he'd fantasised about murdering Alex Jones, how do you even respond to that? #GMB."
"Oh my god Richard Madeley is awful. Asking a poor bereaved dad what revenge fantasies he had?! Luckily the dad put him in his place," a second added, as a third penned: "Richard talks about revenge fantasies at 7:30 what a complete w***** of a man."
