GMB’s Susanna Reid shares how she lost weight without exercising

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, who was missing from the breakfast show on Monday, June 20, has shared how she lost one and a half stone without exercising. Following just a few small tricks, Susanna has been able to lose weight without working out.

Susanna said she realised she wanted to lose weight after the second lockdown when she went to the doctor about skin problems. She was shocked to find out she was at the top end of the BMI range for her height and was advised to lose some weight.

The star said she doesn't exercise and actually gave up going to the gym as it made her hungry. She explained: "I stopped going to the gym, I found it made me too hungry... I've levelled out, I lost a stone-and-a-half and that's enough, and I don't go to the gym."

One of Susanna's tricks was to cut out snacks. Normally the presenter is getting up at 4am to appear on the breakfast show and this meant she was snacking more.

She said: "[Hunger] can creep up without you noticing, I found waking up so early in the morning you're in a sort of energy deficit." She added: "All your body can think is have toast, have biscuits, have calories, and you can pile [weight] on really quickly."

Another trick of Susanna's was to cut down on drinking alcohol. Although Susanna has not cut out alcohol from her diet completely she has cut down.

Since 2018 Susanna has given up drinking alcohol heavily. She said: "I am sleeping better... I don’t have hangxiety. I don’t miss for a minute that feeling of fizzing in your body in the morning, which meant I couldn’t quite relax the day after a big night."

Susanna is among a number of celebrities to reveal their weight loss techniques, including James Corden, who you can read about here.
