GMB's Susanna Reid pays emotional tribute to The Wanted's Tom Parker

Fans of boyband The Wanted, and friends across the TV and music industry, are continuing to pay tribute today to pop-star, Tom Parker who has tragically lost his life following a diagnosis of inoperable brain cancer in October 2020.

Presenter Susanna Reid paid tribute to Tom on Good Morning Britain in an emotional segment in which viewers could hear the anguish in Susanna's voice as she spoke, echoing the shock and sadness of so many viewers. Speaking of the rest of Tom's band, The Wanted, she said: "It was very noticeable how much they cared for him behind the scenes."

Susanna continued with an audible break in her voice: "We are so sad about Tom, tragically young, 33 years-old, incredibly cruel what's happened to him. She added: "We send our love to the band, to the team around them and especially to Kelsey and the children.

Tom's wife Kelsey confirmed he had passed away yesterday (March 30) and was surrounded by his family and friends. Tom had previous discussed his diagnosis with David McCall for a TV segment on Stand Up to Cancer. In it he of the moment he found out he had cancer saying: "It was an emotive moment to say the least. I was on my own in hospital because of Covid restrictions. So, there was literally nobody else there with me - I was alone.

Tom continued: "The doctors whipped around the curtain around my bed and told me I have a brain tumour, and I was like ‘No, you’ve got it wrong. It must be a mistake. I’m only 32. I really thought they had made a mistake."
