Martin Lewis issued a passionate plea on today's Good Morning Britain.
The consumer champion fronted Monday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme alongside Susanna Reid. The two covered a range of stories addressing the UK's cost of living crisis.
The price of energy bills will skyrocket when the price cap rises by 54% on April 1 due to the surging cost of wholesale gas. Martin and Susanna interviewed Health Secretary Sajid Javid on the hike.

The Money Saving Expert was concerned about the impact the hike will have on people with disabilities and medical conditions. Martin read a message from a disabled person named Lisa, who had contacted him and was "petrified" of the rising bills.
The message said: "I am disabled for 23 years and a single parent. My Personal Independent Payment has increased £3 a month, but council tax increase £5 a month and my electricity is predicted to go up £70 a month. I'm petrified as I don't have another £70 a month. I don't drink, I don't have Sky. Shocking."
The finance guru probed the Health Secretary on what support is available for these people for a "likely year-on-year doubling of energy of bills".
Mr Javid responded: "For those people that are on disability benefits or Personal Independence Payments, those are regularly kept under review. They do often rise when we see rising inflation. I don't want to preempt where they might go in the future, that's clearly a government-wide decision.
"But it is important that they are there and still available to people at the right level so it can give the support it is intended to do so.
"More broadly, whether you're disabled or not, there are other support available. You've mentioned the energy price intervention. I've noted what you said about the levels of support but that is a total package of around £9b.
"Lastly, I would say, it is right to keep all this under review to see what more can be done but especially to target it at exactly the kind of people you're talking about who are more vulnerable."
Martin apologised for taking off his "presenter's hat" as he issued a campaigning call to Mr Javid.
He said: "People on oxygen concentrators. People on dialysis machine. People with electric wheelchairs are in panic and shock that their lives are going to be cut off because of these energy rises.
"I know we have cabinet government. I know you sit around that table. Please as Secretary of State for Health, will you champion those people and make sure that we don't disable their lives going forward."
Mr Javid assured Martin he would act on the request. Susanna Reid told Martin he was forgiven as he was concerned he may have "over-stepped the line" and "broken some broadcasting regulations".
She said: "You are allowed to have an opinion."
