Good Morning Britain's weather presenter Laura Tobin has given her verdict on a potential UK heatwave next month. The forecaster said by the middle of April the weather could become more "unsettled" but in the meantime the dry and sunny weather will continue.
Many of us enjoyed a dose of sunshine during the weekend and will be eager to know if it's set to continue. Presenter Lorraine quizzed meteorologist Laura on her morning show on Monday, March 21 as to whether the warmer weather was here to stay.
Speaking on the ITV programme Laura said the outlook is sunny, dry and warm weather and explained how temperatures had reached 20.2 celsius in Scotland over the weekend, making it the hottest day of the year so far.
"That is fantastic isn't it?" Lorraine said: "Do you think there is more to come though? I mean is that it now? Sometimes in March, it can bite you. You get a little bit of really really cold weather."
Laura replied: "The saying is in like a lion out like a lamb. So it was windy to start and actually the rest of the month looks fine dry, plenty of sunshine. The middle of next month perhaps a bit more unsettled but actually the outlook is drier, sunnier and warmer."
"Enjoy it while it lasts," she continued: "I rarely say that there is good news with the weather because not everyone likes sunny and not everyone likes wet but do you know actually yes, good news, sunny, dry and warm".
Lorraine continues weekdays from 9am on ITV.
