Boris Johnson's interview on Good Morning Britain this morning showed he "doesn't have a clue" about the cost of living crisis, according to ECHO readers.
The Prime Minister has been slammed by ECHO readers who said Mr Johnson was out of touch with the country and out of his depth when it came to the cost of living crisis. Mr Johnson appeared on Good Morning Britain where regular host Susanna Reid reported live from Downing Street.
The Prime Minister was due to appear on the show at 8.15am this morning but was instantly criticised by viewers for his lateness. Mr Johnson didn't take his place on the show until after 8.30am where Susanna grilled him on how the government were handling the cost of living crisis currently enveloping the nation.

Despite initially stating he was an honest man and he was "doing everything we can to help with the pressures on family budgets", Mr Johnson was pressed to admit more could be done.
Susanna said: "The biggest issue for people right now is how they can possibly afford to pay their bills. Energy bills are rising, petrol costs are rising, tax is rising, food bank use is rising. The number of people in poverty is rising." She later asked Mr Johnson why he wasn't imposing a windfall tax on the energy companies before telling him "your job is to help people pay their bills".
Mr Johnson then listed the support measure put in place including an energy discount that will have to be repaid and a £150 council tax rebate available to some households. Susanna said: "But £150 doesn't touch the sides, and isn't available for everybody. You're not doing everything you can".
Boris Johnson replied: "There is more that we can do but the crucial thing is to make sure we deal with the crisis over the medium and long term". Susanna said: "So you're not being honest, you're not doing everything you can".
ECHO viewers were quick to condemn Mr Johnson's comments during the interview, stating the Prime Minister "doesn't have a clue" about the cost of living crisis.
Chris Eyre said: "Susanna Reid's excellent interview has proven if we didn't know already is that Johnson does not have a bloody clue how to deal with the cost of living crisis." Debbie Sweeney added: "For anyone who didn’t catch this interview this morning, Boris is so out of touch with the working class. He avoided answering the questions - just more spin."
Shaun Boland said it seems Mr Johnson "has no interest in the British people."
Thomas Hemingford wrote: "Government out of touch. Not a clue. After the meter reading, our current outstanding electricity bill is now £740 for a quarter. We have no way or means to pay it. Wife disabled, I'm full-time carer. Our neighbour has paid this for us."
Sharon Louise called on the Prime Minister to "step in" adding "people are struggling - come on Boris."
But one reader said Mr Johnson "doesn't have a magic wand" while another added: "A little hardship now is better than long term hardship so is it not better to seek a long-term solution over throwing money at temporary measures which only create more hardship?"
