GMB fans urge Susanna Reid to 'stay safe' ahead of broadcast live from Ukraine border

Susanna Reid will present live from the Polish-Ukrainian border on Monday's Good Morning Britain, with fans wishing her good luck ahead of the special broadcast.

The presenter, 51, has travelled to Poland for the special episode of the ITV breakfast show, with her set to co-host alongside Richard Madeley, 65, who will be in the studio in London.

It will see Susanna report from the country's border with Ukraine and viewers are set to be shown a "special interview" with young refugee Amelia, seven, who went viral last month.

She attracted attention when a clip was shared on social media of her singing Let It Go from Frozen whilst seeking refuge in a shelter in Kyiv amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday morning, mother-of-three Susanna announced the special broadcast after having travelled to Poland with a small crew on Saturday 23 April.

Susanna tweeted: "Tomorrow I am @gmb in Poland with a special interview with Amelia and her mum Lilia," alongside a photo of the three of them.

The journalist took the opportunity to remind her 863k followers that Amelia - who has since relocated with her family to Poland - has been a "symbol of her nation".

Susanna teased that she would provide further coverage from the region on the show, with her adding: "And I'll be reporting from the Polish-Ukrainian border live from 6am."

The announcement on Sunday morning attracted a number of responses from fans, with many wishing her luck and some encouraging her to "stay safe" out there.

"So looking forward to this interview. Best of luck," said one fan, while another tweeted: "Sending good vibes and Irish blessings for a safe time! Take care of yourself and I hope it goes well!"

Several fans responded by sharing their thoughts on Amelia, with one writing that they could "never forget" her singing. They said that she was a "ray of sunshine" amid the conflict.

Another person wrote: "Her song in the shelter was very moving and made the world stop to see the innocence of a child trying to have fun in a very dark man-made hell."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
