GMB fans furious over Richard Madeley's 'revenge fantasy' question to grieving dad

Fans of Good Morning Britain branded Richard Madeley as "awful" after he asked a Sandy Hook dad about "revenge fantasies".

A grieving dad from the deadly incident appeared on the ITV talk show to chat to Richard and his co-host Susanna Reid. It comes as families of eight victims killed in the 2012 shooting, and an F.B.I. agent who responded to the scene, were awarded damages in court from Alex Jones, who said that the shooting was a government hoax.

During the incident, 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people. Twenty of the victims were children between six and seven years old, and six were adult staff members.

Before attending the school, Lanza shot and killed his own mum. He later also took his own life.

But Richard's approach to his questioning during the interview was questioned by fans as he asked the dad if he had ever thought about getting revenge on Alex Jones for spreading such heinous lies. Fans on Twitter thought it was a "weird" and "awful" approach and flooded the social media platform with complaints.

Emma said: "Oh my god Richard Madeley is awful. Asking a poor bereaved dad what revenge fantasies he had?! Luckily the dad put him in his place. #GMB."

Ade said: "Wow, trying to get that image out of my mind, Richard Madeley reaping revenge…#GMB" Another user added: "Is this news? A court case in America with Madeley talking about revenge fantasies? (Weird)"

Scott said: "Richard talks about revenge fantasies at f***ing 7:30 what a complete w***** of a man #GMB." Rob said: "Richard asking the man if he'd fantasised about murdering Alex Jones. How do you even respond to that? #GMB."
