GMB fans frustrated over 'unwatchable' special airing in hospital amid 'terrible sound'

Good Morning Britain fans were left frustrated as the ITV show aired inside a hospital today as they pleaded for the "terrible sound" to be sorted out.

Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley hosted the programme from Whiston Hospital in Prescot to demonstrate how challenging it is for the NHS over the winter.

It comes as tens of thousands of nurses voted to strike for the first time in a century in a bitter dispute over pay.

Joining Kate and Richard in hospital today were Dr Amir Khan and Dr Hilary Jones, who gave an insight into how staff were feeling during such a tough time for the NHS.

But fans were left deeply frustrated over the sound quality at the beginning of the programme.

One tweeted: "Seriously @GMB this outside broadcast from the hospital is awful. There is no need to be in a hospital. Also the sound quality is shocking, worst I’ve heard! #GMB #goodmorningbritain #breakfast # itv #Sound."

While another commented: "The sound man on location on @GMB is terrible… Is it work experience or something? #GMB."

A third fumed: "#GMB unwatchable this morning. Sound all over the place. Really feel for the NHS staff having to work with this going on under their feet."

"Can we see what’s going on in A&E now? This is just normal #gmb in an outpatients reception, with poorer sound quality," another raged.

One commented: "Sort the sound out! Would help if you all don’t speak/shout over each other! #GMB another morning used the off button!"

Whiston Hospital had tweeted earlier today to explain why they had invited cameras into the hospital today, saying: "We’ve let the @GMB cameras in today to show just how challenging things are across the NHS already this winter. Thank you to all our patients for the kindness and support you are showing to our staff, we truly appreciate it."
