GMB congratulate Alex Beresford on engagement but the GMB presenter's new bride didn't know who he was

Good Morning Britain's Alex Beresford is engaged. The star announced the happy news via social media and with the 41-year-old keeping his love life under wraps until now, lots of his fans are wondering who the lucky lady is.

The 29-year-old soon-to-be-bride was raised in Australia, and now works in e-commerce operations for a top restaurant. She was introduced to Alex via a mutual friend, and had no idea who her future fiancée was at the time, as she had never seen him on television.

Alex and Imogen have been dating since August 2020, and endured a long distance relationship between Alex's hometown, Bristol, and London. On their very first date, Imogen, 29 came down to the West Country city to hang out with the former Dancing on Ice contestant.

Imogen works for The River Cafe, a swanky eatery in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. With a beautiful outdoor seating area, the Thameside Italian restaurant is not really for casual dining - each main course on their current sample menu is over £40.

Prior to her e-commerce career, Imogen studied in Australia, where she grew up. After attending Anglican day and boarding school Perth College, Imogen earned a commerce/arts degree at the University of Western Australia, graduating as a Bachelor of the Arts.

Speaking about her first date with Alex, Imogen told HELLO! Magazine: "I'd never seen him on TV but refrained from looking him up because I wanted to find out for myself what he was like. When we met, it felt as if we'd known each other for ages. Holding hands and laughing together just came naturally."

After over a year together, Alex and Imogen jetted out to Majorca to ring in 2022 under the Spanish sun. It was on the Balearic island that Alex got down on one knee during a stroll on the beach and popped the question to his future wife.

He told HELLO!: "I took Imogen for a walk along the beach. The weather was sunny and warm, and the sea was crystal clear.

"'This is it,' I thought. Imogen's not one for taking photos, but as I persuaded her to pose for a picture overlooking the sea, I kneeled down to take the engagement ring I'd hidden inside my rucksack. When she turned around, I was on one knee, and asked her the biggest question of my life – and she said yes. It was an amazing moment."

Alex and Imogen will be heading back out to Majorca in September to tie the knot in the company of 100 guests. The weather presenter has already revealed that his 12-year-old son, Cruz, will be his mini best man and ring bearer.
