T.J. Holmes on Wednesday filed for divorce from lawyer Marilee Fiebig amid the ongoing investigation into the journalist’s reported romance with his “GMA3″ co-anchor Amy Robach.
Holmes, 45, filed in New York City according to TMZ. The filing comes a month to the day since cozy photos of him and Robach, 49, came to light and, with them, questions about the origins of their romance.
The move to further extricate himself from the failed marriage came just two days after Holmes and Robach were spotted together at the airport in Atlanta.
Holmes and Robach “both broke up with their spouses in August within weeks of each other” and didn’t start dating until afterwards, a source told People in the aftermath of the initial photos.
Holmes and Fiebig tied the knot in 2010, which just so happened to be the same year Robach said “I do” to “Melrose Place” star Andrew Shue.
Amid significant speculation about how and when the romance actually started, ABC took the pair off the air until at least next year — pending an internal review into their relationship.
The network wants to ensure the two never breached their contracts in pursuing the relationship, nor used company resources to do so.
