If Tuesday’s comments by Jets general manager Joe Douglas are any indication, free agent Duane Brown may be inching towards joining Gang Green.
Douglas jumped on WFAN’s Morning Show with Boomer and Gio and was asked about Brown and the ongoing talks and interest between the two sides.
“The wheels are in motion,” Douglas said. He also said that Brown is in “phenomenal shape”.
GM Joe Douglas, on @WFANmornings, says Duane Brown is in “phenomenal shape” and “the wheels are in motion.” Translation: #Jets remain very interested. Douglas acknowledges Becton injury more concerning than initially anticipated.

Brown met with Douglas and assistant general manager Rex Hogan during Saturday’s Green and White scrimmage, before the Mekhi Becton injury happened Monday. Douglas acknowledged the injury is much more serious and concerning than initially believed.
Safe to say talks may increase between the two sides and at this point, it’s probably a matter of when, not if, Brown becomes a Jet. The Jets open the preseason Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
