Former Melbourne City goalkeeper Tom Glover has played his part in a memorable night for Middlesbrough as they beat EPL powerhouse Chelsea in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final.
Sydneysider Glover, who signed for Boro on a three-year deal in July 2023, kept a clean sheet as Michael Carrick's side won 1-0 to leave Chelsea with plenty to do in the second leg at Stamford Bridge on January 23.
"I know it's a two-legged affair and it's still all to play for, but with all we've had to go through with injuries and setbacks to beat a team with Chelsea's quality is unbelievable," Boro manager Carrick said.
