Perth boss Alen Stajcic remains searching for his first club win outside Western Australia when the Glory travel to take on Western Sydney on Saturday night.
The in-form Wanderers sit third on the A-League Men table and just three points off top spot, making them warm favourites to beat the Glory and continue to accumulate points.
Stajcic was forced to defend his side's woeful away record in his tenure, having taken no wins and just one draw from seven outings this season.
He pointed to their record last season under former coach Ruben Zadkovich, where they lost 10 of 14 games on the road and won just once.
"The last win that team had was Central Coast which would have been one of the first games of the previous season, he didn't win any after that," he said.
"So it's been around for a while and I think in the last three years, there's only been five wins away from home.
"I don't think it has snowballed recently, it's been a common trend over the last three years.
"Playing away from home is not an excuse, we just haven't been good enough on the day."
The Glory lost 4-3 to Wellington last weekend to continue a remarkable record, having conceded at least two goals in nine consecutive games.
That brittle defence is likely to get a stern test from the Wanderers, who continued a topsy-turvy patch with a 1-0 win against Melbourne City last time out.
"From the past couple of months you can see loss, win, loss, win, loss, win," winger Dylan Pierias said.
"That performance we put in against City was a very professional, disciplined performance.
"Everything we worked on during the week, we did it and no matter who we (play) we want to implement that … ... we want to keep that consistency and mentality and effort in upcoming games."
Stajcic wouldn't comment on reports winger Salim Khelifi is set to leave the club in the January transfer window.
The Glory would struggle to replace the talented attacker, given they are under a transfer embargo until the club can find new owners.
