Japanese investors sold foreign long-term bonds for a fourth consecutive week through October 10, extending this year’s net outflows to their highest level since 2022, although the pace of selling has moderated, according to finance ministry data cited by Reuters.
Investors sold a net 339.7 billion yen ($2.15 billion) of overseas long-term bonds during the week, broadly in line with the revised 345.7 billion yen sold in the previous week. The latest outflow was significantly lower than the 1.9 trillion yen in net sales recorded in the week ended September 19.
