European shares edged lower on Wednesday as investors turned cautious ahead of key U.S. inflation data, while a fresh escalation in Middle East tensions pushed Brent crude towards the $100-per-barrel mark and revived concerns over global price pressures, Reuters reported.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index was down 0.4% at 646.84 points as of 0810 GMT. Germany’s DAX fell 0.5%, while London’s FTSE 100 declined 0.2% and France’s CAC 40 slipped 0.6%.
