Global heating: The terrifying fate of the planet and everyone who lives on it that is now 'irreversible'

The latest UN assessment of climate change has painted a grim future ahead for the world.

It warns that many of the impacts of global warming are now simply "irreversible" but there is a brief time where the worst effects can be avoided.

The latest report is part of a series of assessments by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) into global warming which have been released since 1988 (yes, we have known about climate change for a very long time).
