Glenn Hoddle has backed Tottenham to win their battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League following a “titanic” performance against Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
First half goals from Conor Gallagher and Richarlison secured a 2-1 win at Villa Park for Spurs, lifting them above West Ham - beaten 3-0 by Brentford on Saturday - and out of the drop zone in the process.
Tottenham are now a point clear of their London rivals with three matches to play, two of which are at home where Spurs have not tasted victory in the league since the beginning of December.
Hoddle, though, saw enough in the performance against Villa to be confident about his former club’s chances of getting results at home to Leeds next Monday night and Everton on the final day of the season.
"I do,” Hoddle responded when asked on TNT Sports if he now believes Spurs will stay up.
“You asked me the question earlier and I said 'well my heart was saying they will stay up but my head was going no if we lost today'.
"That is a titanic performance and a titanic result and it puts a load of pressure on the other teams - well West Ham down there actually.

"It was the way that they played today, I thought it was excellent, absolutely spot on tactically and the players had that hunger.
"Every player played eight or nine out of ten, they were brilliant today.
"Only [negative] was the goal conceded right at the end.
"The passion and the hard work they put in, if they do that again on Monday night at home then they will start getting good results at home."
