After five failed attempts at gaining a win in the Ulster Club Championship, Cargin were determined not to let another opportunity pass them by when they faced Naomh Conaill at Corrigan Park earlier this month.
The Antrim champions gained a famous victory over the Donegal side following a 4-1 penalty shoot-out win after a last-gasp equaliser in the final seconds of normal time from Kevin McShane. The midfielder then brought the game to penalties with a stunning point in extra-time while goalkeeper John McNabb made two saves in the shoot-out.
Cargin’s reward is a last-four clash with Derry champions Glen, who rode their luck at times in their victory over Errigal Ciaran at Celtic Park.

Conor Convery’s challenge on Errigal Ciaran goalkeeper Darragh McAnenly for Glen’s opening goal remains the source of much debate while the Tyrone champions also had a late goal from Eoin Kelly ruled out for a square ball infringement.
Malachy O’Rourke’s men will be keen to ensure that Sunday’s game doesn’t come down to such fine margins, but with Conor Glass and Ethan Doherty in such fine form, the Derry side are overwhelming favourites against the Toome outfit.
